Thames Water has awarded a major AMP7/8 contract for water networks developer services and infrastructure worth up to an estimated £1.04 billion in total.

The water company was looking to appoint experienced organisations to provide the following works and services:
1. Developer Services - scope of service includes mains and service connections, network reinforcement and diversions and Major Projects works
2. Infrastructure Programmes - scope of work includes minor capital works, lead pipe replacement, trunk mains leakage and network maintenance.
The contract was being tendered in the following four separate Lots – estimated total values given were provided when the water company originally went out to tender for the work in January 2022.
Lot 1 - Developer Services - Mains and Service Connections (London) ( £224 million)
The provision of Developer Services for water mains and general associated services to Developer Customers (including house builders, property developers and other infrastructure providers).
The services will include new water mains and new water service connections, network reinforcement and diversion works. All new service connections must be fitted with a Smart Meter, mains connections will not generally need metering unless specified in the design. Thames Water was looking to appoint a single supplier to undertake the works for Lot 1. This will be for London only.
Lot 2 - Developer Services - Mains and Service Connections (Thames Valley) (£80 million)
The provision of Developer Services for water mains and general associated services to Developer Customers (including house builders, property developers and other infrastructure providers).
The services will include new water mains and new water service connections, network reinforcement and diversion works. All new service connections must be fitted with a Smart Meter, mains connections will not generally need metering unless specified in the design.
Thames Water was looking to appoint a single supplier to undertake the works for Lot 2.
Lot 3 Infrastructure Programmes (£33.6 million)
Thames Water was looking to appoint a single supplier organisation to provide Infrastructure Programmes delivered across all Thames Water regions. This will include the provision of Minor Capital Works, Lead Pipe replacement, trunk mains leakage works and water network maintenance.
Lot 4 - Major Projects: Developer Services and Infrastructure Programmes (£400 million)
Thames Water was looking to appoint at least 2 suppliers to provide non standard works - complex, major projects in the Developer Services and Infrastructure Programme category of works. The Lot will be governed by a Framework Agreement and work will be directly allocated or competed within a mini-competition process.
The following companies have all been awarded contracts:
- Morrison Water Services Limited (Lots 1, 3 and 4)
- Network Plus Services Limited (Lot 2)
- Barhale Limited (Lot 4)
